Early access to SnapBuddy

Three surfaces: the Windows desktop app, the browser extension, and a web library with nothing to install. One annotation engine across all three, mirrored byte for byte, so a mark behaves the same wherever you draw it. Access is by invitation while we finish it, so ask us for one.

A signed Windows installer, from the same releases repo the app checks for its own updates. Capture, record and annotate, with every file landing on your disk first.

The editor is one file. Two of these three run a copy of it.

The desktop app is where that file lives. The extension and the web library carry copies of it, and drift between them fails the build.

A Windows installer, and it is not public yet. Write to us and we will send you the build. Every release is signed, and the app carries the public half of that key, so an update it offers you later is checked before it installs.

Windows today. If you want it on macOS, say so when you ask for access.

Browser extension

Version 1.25.0

Chromium browsers and Firefox, from one codebase that detects what the browser it is in can actually do rather than offering a control that fails when pressed. Record tab needs an API Firefox does not have, so on Firefox that button removes itself. Saving into a folder you granted needs Chrome or Edge, and elsewhere recordings go to Downloads.

The Chrome Web Store listing is unlisted today, which means it is not searchable, so this card carries no install link yet. A link the store will not show you in search is not one worth giving. It lands here the day the listing goes public.

No install

Nothing to install and nothing to update. The library runs at https://app.snapbuddy.ai; sign in with your email address and you are in.

Ask us for the installer

We reply with a file, not a queue number.

Your address is used to write back to you about SnapBuddy and nothing else. No newsletter, no sequence, and replying to ask us to delete it is enough.

Which machine are you on?

We build on Windows. Ticking the Mac box puts you on the Mac list and does not slow the Windows one down.

What you would use it for, or what would have to be true for it to be worth paying for. A person reads these.

One request leaves your machine on its own

Shortly after every start, the app asks GitHub for the latest version. That request tells GitHub your IP address, not your version: the same file is fetched whatever you run, and the comparison happens on your machine.

It is the one request the app makes without being asked, and you are reading about it on the download page rather than finding it in a packet capture. The privacy notice names everything else that ever leaves your computer.
