Install it where you work
The annotation engine is a single file, mirrored byte for byte across all three, and drift between the copies fails the build. A mark behaves the same wherever you draw it.
Desktop app
Version 0.9.0A Windows installer, served from the same releases repo the app’s own updater reads. Every release is signed, and the app carries the public half of that key, so an update it offers you later is checked before it installs.
Today the desktop app ships for Windows. macOS and Linux are coming soon.
Browser extension
Version 1.16.0Chromium browsers and Firefox, from one codebase that detects what the browser it is in can actually do rather than offering a control that fails when pressed. Record tab needs an API Firefox does not have, so on Firefox that button removes itself. Saving into a folder you granted needs Chrome or Edge, and elsewhere recordings go to Downloads.
Install link coming soonThe Chrome Web Store listing is unlisted today, which means it is not searchable, so this card carries no install link yet. A link the store will not show you in search is not one worth giving. It lands here the day the listing goes public.
Web app
No installNothing to install and nothing to update. The library runs at https://snapbuddy-web.vercel.app; sign in with your email address and you are in.
One request leaves your machine on its own
Shortly after every start, the app asks GitHub for the latest version. That request tells GitHub your IP address, not your version: the same file is fetched whatever you run, and the comparison happens on your machine.
It is the one request the app makes without being asked, and you are reading about it on the download page rather than finding it in a packet capture. The privacy notice names the only other thing that ever leaves your computer.
